Liverpool have faced heavy competition for some of their transfer targets this year already.
After links to Anfield, Antoine Semenyo joined Manchester City last week and has already opened his account for the Sky Blues.
Alongside Semenyo, Man City want to sign Marc Guehi in the 2026 winter transfer window.

However, Arsenal are thought to be interested in the centre-back as well, while a European club have also thrown their hat into the ring.

Bayern Munich send message to Marc Guehi
Bayern Munich were linked with Guehi late last year, ahead of his contract expiring at the end of June.
Because they are not an English club, the Bundesliga champions can already sign the stopper to a pre-contract agreement.
Currently, it is thought that Guehi wants Liverpool over Man City, but Bayern are now trying to persuade the defender to join them instead.

Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol revealed: “I think what Bayern Munich have been saying to him is Marc please do not sign for anyone else now. Wait, hold on. And we will take you in the summer. This is going to be an incredible opportunity for you to join one of the biggest clubs in the world.
The only issue for Bayern Munich is that Manchester City want him as well.
“Liverpool want him as well. And of course Arsenal potentially want him as well in the summer.”

How much Marc Guehi would cost in January
For Liverpool’s part, they seem more than willing to wait until the summer before making a move.
However, interest from Man City may force the club to act this month and push ahead with an offer for the ‘fantastic’ player.
If that is the case, it has been reported this week that Crystal Palace want around £35m for Guehi.
It was also shared that the England international is looking to earn a weekly wage of £200,000, which is the same figure Liverpool currently pay to Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike.
