It has been claimed today in the media that Liverpool target Marc Guehi will be looking for a wage of around £200k-a-week when he finally decides to depart Crystal Palace for his next club.
Guehi, who becomes a free agent at the end of the season, had been linked with a January move to Manchester City, LIVERPOOL, Arsenal and Bayern Munich for his performances in that Palace shirt over the past few transfer windows.
The Reds remain interested in the England international after missing out on Guehi last summer, but as reported by the ECHO last week, they are concentrating their efforts on persuading the player to move when his deal expires at the end of the season.
However – reports in the media this week have claimed that Guehi will be looking for a wage of around £200,000-a-week when he starts to negotiate his move away from Palace this January or at the end of the season.
The news comes after Fabrizio Romano claimed that Guehi would prefer to leave Palace at the end of the season rather than this January window: “I can tell you on Marc Guehi, the intention of the player has always been moving in the summer on a free transfer, with LIVERPOOL really pushing and Arsenal calling because Arteta is a big fan. Bayern [Munich] have also had some meetings for Guehi, but now [Dayot] Upamecano is expected to sign a new contract.
“Manchester City can be clear. They want Guehi, they want to make an important proposal and want to go strong in this January window and will try next week.
“If the player decides to accept, Man City are prepared to make an agreement with Crystal Palace.
‘They don’t see any problems with that, but it’s on the player, and his plan has always been to move in the summer. So let’s see what happens, but Marc Guehi story remains absolutely alive.”
IcFootballnews Says…
In todays market, £200k-a-week is not alot of money, especially as the big clubs would not be paying much of a transfer fee for Guehi at the end of the season.
