Liverpool now eyeing January move to sign 'the new Denzel Dumfries' amid Bradley injury - report

Liverpool are in the market for a right-back following Conor Bradley's injury, with TEAMtalk reporting that Feyenoord defender Givairo Read is a target for the Merseyside club.

Bradley suffered a serious injury last week against Arsenal, and he's now undergone surgery which is set to see him on the sidelines for an extended period of time. GIVEMESPORT sources have confirmed that Bradley is set to miss the rest of the season, but Liverpool have refused to put a timeline on his absence.

That leaves Arne Slot with just Jeremie Frimpong as a natural right-back option, but even he has been deployed on the right-hand side of attack recently. Dipping into the market for a Bradley replacement would make sense, and it appears they are working on trying to complete a deal.

Liverpool Eyeing Right-Back Signing This Month

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Liverpool are assessing whether to dip into the market to sign a new right-back before the close of the January transfer window. Feyenoord youngster Read is one of those being considered by Liverpool. The 19-year-old has worked under Slot previously for a short period during their time together at Feyenoord, and he's a player who has plenty of potential.

Read has been previously described as 'the new Denzel Dumfries', which is some high praise considering the career his Dutch counterpart has had. Read would likely be a signing for the future, but there's no doubt he could make an impact in the present.

Sky Sports presenter Florian Plettenberg has also recently claimed that Liverpool are 'urgently' working on bringing in a new right-back following the injury to Bradley, so we could see a move ramp up in the coming days.

Time for Frimpong to Step Up at Liverpool

It's now time for Frimpong to prove his worth at Anfield after an inconsistent start to life in Liverpool since his move in the summer transfer window. Injuries have impacted his ability to prove himself, but we're yet to see him reach his full potential under Slot.

Bradley's injury is a real chance for Frimpong to make that right-back position his own, having been deployed in a right-sided attacker role at times this season. Frimpong is more than likely going to be a guaranteed starter in defence going forward, and it's up to him to try and prevent Liverpool signing a replacement.
