John Terry shares why he was‘a little bit disappointed’ by Liam Rosenior’s first game in charge of Chelsea

Liam Rosenior got off to the perfect start to life at Chelsea when his side beat Charlton 5-1 in the FA Cup third round.

Rosenior was able to rotate his side heavily, with goals coming for Jorrel Hato and Marc Guiu after their lack of minutes under Enzo Maresca.

While Chelsea fans cried for more attacking from their side in the early stages, by the end of the game their superiority was shining through, and in truth they could have won by an even larger margin.

However, the first 45 minutes, largely highlighted by Chelsea players having efforts from long range, has now been mostly forgotten about, although not by club legend John Terry.

John Terry wasn’t impressed with Chelsea’s attacking in Liam Rosenior’s first game in charge

The former club captain took to his own TikTok to state that he wasn’t too impressed with how Chelsea operated in the final third, putting it down to the lack of time the new manager has had to work with the players.

He said: “Just on reflection of the Charlton game as well. I have to say I was a little bit disappointed, especially in the attacking third.

“I see the same patterns. Liam’s not had much time to work with this squad at the moment, but I’m sure a few days on the build-up to this Arsenal one, he’s had an opportunity to implement some forward patterns, some forward play, in terms of how he wants to play and be more aggressive going forward and on the front foot, especially at home as well.

“We spoke about how he wants to get fans on the edge of their seats, and hopefully he can do that tonight. So big opportunity.”

Massive test for Rosenior against Arsenal

Rosenior’s second game in charge will likely be one of his most difficult when he sets his Chelsea side up to face Arsenal in the EFL Cup semi-finals.

What does Liam Rosenior need to do to overturn Enzo Maresca’s Arsenal curse?👀

The Blues are likely to be without Cole Palmer and Malo Gusto due to injury concerns, while Moises Caicedo will be absent due to suspension.

The hope will be that Reece James is fit to feature after his excellent performance in the middle of the park against the Gunners last time they faced them.

This could open the door for Josh Acheampong to start his biggest game for the club. He has started two of the last three games for the first team.
