Reports have claimed that Mohamed Salah is set to stay at Liverpool this January transfer window, but his situation is still one to keep an eye on as there could be some shock movement.
The Egyptian international was linked with an exit after an outburst to the media, but those links have since quietened, with his involvement at AFCON over the past few weeks, where he has been impressing.
However – the talk that he could still be leaving this January window has started to creep back into the media, with many reports suggesting that a move to Saudi Arabia is one that Salah may now be interested in making.
But The Athletic report that Mohamed Salah is set to stay at *LIVERPOOL*this January transfer window
Elsewhere, the report claims that summer activity will be focused on a centre-back, with no breakthrough on Ibrahima Konate’s deal, while no right-back is planned after the loss of Conor Bradley due to injury.
It comes after Liverpool legend John Barnes explained why he doesn’t believe his former club need to make signings in the January transfer window: “No – the solution to Liverpool’s problems is not to sign players,” the former England international, who scored 108 goals and made 99 more in 407 appearances at Anfield, told the ECHO via the Covers.com World Cup betting team.
“They spent more than £400m in the summer and did not get any better. If you sign more players in January and don’t see any improvement, what happens at the end of the season: Do you then sign even more?
“You must work with what you have. The players already at Arne Slot’s disposal are good enough.
“*LIVERPOOL* made a number of big signings last summer, and I’m not saying they haven’t worked out, you’ve got to give new players time to blend, and some are now injured.
“I’m no fan of signing players in January because at this time of the season, you’re not buying the players you want, you’re not going to be able to bring in the best players. Liverpool don’t need any signings this month.”
