Liam Rosenior’s first game at Stamford Bridge did not go to plan as Chelsea went on to lose 3-2 to Arsenal.
Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo and Reece James all missed the Carabao Cup semi-final tie, but Rosenior was still able to put out a fairly strong team.
Estevao Willian started on the right and was Chelsea’s best attacker on the night alongside Alejandro Garnacho.

Matthew Upson calls Estevao Willian’s yellow card ‘crazy’
Chelsea’s lack of discipline this season has been a big talking point, and it could be seen again during their London derby on Wednesday.
Estevao was booked in the first half for dissent, with former Premier League defender Matthew Upson describing his actions as “crazy”, given that Arsenal were being penalised for a foul.
Commentating on Chelsea’s Carabao Cup clash against the Gunners for the BBC, Upson said: “Estevao didn’t need to do that. It was a stonewall yellow card for Leandro Trossard already. It’s crazy.”
Following Marc Cucurella’s sending off against Fulham last week, Chelsea have received seven red cards this term.
It will be a concern for Rosenior, who is also having to deal with several injury problems right now. Palmer and James were absent from the Arsenal game because of fitness issues.

Estevao Willian’s bright performance against Arsenal
Despite his needless yellow card, Estevao can still be satisfied with his performance. Although they lost in the end, Chelsea’s attack as a whole looked dangerous at times. What let the team down was the defending on show.
Regarding Estevao specifically, though, he was extremely direct. According to Sofascore, the Brazilian completed five out of six dribbles. He also registered four shots.

The Brazil international is so confident for a teenager. In the second leg at the Emirates, he has to start.
If Chelsea are going to have any success in north London, though, they are going to have to defend much better than they did at Stamford Bridge.
