The Maine Celtics are adding some more frontcourt talent to their squad midseason, signing forward Tosan Evbuomwan, the team announced on Wednesday. He is expected to make his debut on Wednesday night as Maine plays the Wisconsin Herd in a road G-League matchup.
Evbuomwan was on a two-way contract with the Knicks this season before he was waived last week. He suited up for five games this season.
The forward went undrafted out of Princeton in 2023 but has spent time with four NBA teams over the past three seasons. He played for the Grizzlies and Pistons during his rookie season and played 28 games for the Nets last season, averaging 9.5 points and 4.3 rebounds per game over 23.8 minutes per game.
The 6-foot-8 forward has been a standout during his opportunities in the G-League as well. He is averaging 17.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists this season in 12 games for the Westchester Knicks. He joins a Maine team that has a 5-4 record, right in the middle of the pack in the Eastern Conference.
Evbuomwan is the fourth player on the Maine Celtics roster with NBA talent along with Jalen Bridges, Kendall Brown and Keon Johnson.
