Ireland international Troy Parrott bagged himself a hat-trick and provided an assist for AZ Alkmaar in their 6-0 drubbing of Ajax in the Dutch Cup round of 16 on Wednesday night.
With Boys in Green boss Heimir Halgrímsson watching from the stands in the AFAS Stadium, Parrott scored twice in the first half with his first coming after he exploited an error from former St. Patrick’s Athletic netminder Vitezslav Jaros in the Ajax goal.
Parrott reacted quickest to the parry from Jaros to open his account on the night.
