Mikel praises goalscorers in win at Chelsea

Mikel Arteta was quick to praise all three goalscorers from our victory against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg, and is ready for more in the second leg next month.

Ben White, Viktor Gyokeres and Martin Zubimendi all found the net at Stamford Bridge as we clinched a 3-2 victory to take back to Emirates next month.

White headed home before setting up Gyokeres with a low cross, and Mikel revealed he wasn't surprised by our full-back's all-action display in west London.

He said: "I think we all need everybody to be at their best when we need them, and Ben certainly has stepped up tonight. Again, once more, I'm used to it, because he's done it every time that he's been with us, but I think individually we have some big performances tonight."

Viktor also joined Ben in scoring and providing, teeing up Zubimendi in a flowing team move.

Reflecting on the forward's display, he said: "I think he had a great game, he was a real threat constantly, really supporting the team in the way that we actually needed today, he scored the goal and he could have scored another one."

Zubimendi rounded off the scoring for us at Stamford Bridge, showing his composure at the heart of our midfield to help us edge the five-goal thriller.

"Unbelievable, it was a beautiful goal to watch," Mikel said. "The composure that Zubi shows, again, in and around the box, he was top class, and a goal that is very important for us."
