Steve Kerr on Jonathan Kuminga situation: ‘It’s a difficult situation’

Appearing on 95.7 The Game’s Willard And Dibs, Steve Kerr gave an honest assessment of the Jonathan Kuminga situation.

”I’m just gonna to say, it’s a difficult situation,” Kerr said. “I think you guys know it. Everybody knows it. You know I’m just gonna leave it at that… We have to control what we can control and try to keep moving the ship forward. This is not an easy situation. It’s not an easy one to talk about, frankly. I try to protect everybody organizationally. And nobody’s winning right now with this situation and it’s unfortunate, but it is what it is.”

Kuminga has played in only 18 games this season. He has sat out the last 13 games and is nowhere close to cracking Kerr’s rotation, even during garbage-time minutes. Kuminga is officially eligible to be traded, seeing as the clock has already struck midnight on the East Coast where the NBA league offices are located — which means the Warriors might be holding back from playing time in order to preserve his health for a potential trade that could come at any moment.
