Chelsea are fighting a flu outbreak at the club which could be bad news for Saturday

Chelsea are reportedly now fighting against a flu outbreak at the club which could end up being bad news for Saturday.

The Blues face Brentford at home and are already pretty injury depleted with Malo Gusto, Cole Palmer, and Reece James all having to sit out the home game against Arsenal last night.

Chelsea lost 3-2 in the first leg of the League Cup semi final with a very much thrown together with what they had left squad.

The Blues kept fighting back and got two important goals to keep themselves in the tie overall, with the first coming from a pinpoint Pedro Neto cross to Alejandro Garnacho to hit home.

The second goal also came from super sub Garnacho, providing a lovely finish hitting the ball into the ground in able to find the control for a nice volley.

Chelsea did what they could with what they had, even if the tactics of Liam Rosenior and his sub choices can most certainly be questioned here. I think he has a lot to learn at this club even if he has been out there saying all the right things.

He will also now have a flu outbreak to deal with, apparently.

Chelsea are keeping their ill players away from the rest of the first team so flu does not spread, reports The Evening Standard.

Both Liam Delap and Jamie Gittens were due to be playing in the game last night, or at least in the squad. But both had to pull out at very late notice, especially Delap who was a matter of hours before kick off.

Let’s hope they’ve stopped the spread

Chelsea don’t need any more absences for the Brentford game this weekend so let’s hope they have managed to keep a cap on the flu spreading any further.
