West Ham open talks with Chelsea goalkeeper

chelsea fc

West Ham have opened talks to sign goalkeeper Filip J örgensen.

Jörgensen, who joined Chelsea from Villarreal for a fee in excess of £20m and he played 24 times for the West London side throughout his first season at the club. But that changed in his second season under Enzo Maresca, and his selection in goal for the FA Cup tie at Charlton at the weekend was just his seventh senior appearance of the campaign.

West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo is not particularly impressed with the goalkeeping options at his disposal and wants somebody who can start ahead of Lukasz Fabianski, Alphonse Areola and summer signing Mads Hermansen.

But whilst Jörgensen is keen on the move, because it offers him the chance to play regular first-team football, his new manager Liam Rosenior would appear to have other ideas, and he wants him to stay stay Stamford Bridge.

If the move does get the green light, it is likely to be initially on loan, with Chelsea set to revisit the issue of their entire goalkeeping squad in the summer.
