Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to strengthen their attack in the ongoing January transfer window.
Tottenham Hotspur have had quite a lot of problems going forward this season. And this lack of output in front of goal has left Thomas Frank scratching his head as he looks to get his offensive sequences right going into the second half of the season.
And the officials at Hotspur Way are looking for ways to support the under-fire Dane head coach by dipping into the ongoing winter transfer window in order to bring in some reinforcements. And this is where the North Londoners are sounding out possibilities of a “shock” move to bring Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi to N17 this month.
The Lilywhites are already close to wrapping up transfers for Conor Gallagher and Santos left-back Souza. But there is this impending priority to bring in a forward.
And according to TEAMtalk, Spurs are now made aware of the 23-year-old’s situation at Signal Iduna Park as the Germany international looks for a new challenge away from his current employers.

The North Londoners have been making a bit of a short list there, as we see links with multiple wide forwards come through this month. There have been mentions of RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande, Brighton’s Mitoma and Club Brugge’s Christos Tzolis.
But given that Leipzig want to keep Diomande until the summer, the North Londoners want to turn to someone with equally high potential who can reap massive dividends at N17 for years to come. And that is where Adeyemi’s name enters the talk.
TEAMtalk describes Tottenham turning their attention to the Dortmund forward as something of a surprise. But it looks like the North Londoners are now informed about his situation and what it might take to tempt him to the Premier League.
The Mohamed Salah-esque wide forward is valued at around £75m and has a contract with the German giants until 2027. But there is a growing sense that he could be ready to consider a new chapter in his career.
It is an ambitious deal to pursue this winter
Securing the 25-year-old’s signature won’t be as easy, though. This is a hefty transaction in itself, with the transfer fees complemented by the huge wages that the club will have to sanction for him. And Dortmund are under no pressure to sell. Knowing how they work in the windows, it would be a tough set of negotiations for them.
But the fact that the officials at N17 did contact Dortmund about the possibility of a transfer shows that the Lilywhites are at least willing to explore bold options in the market.
