Former Liverpool players have responded to Conor Bradley's injury update

Liverpool star Conor Bradley has confirmed his surgery was a success and the start of his recovery has started.

The right-back has admitted this set-back is a ‘big blow’ for him but he is already looking forward to getting back in action for the Reds and Northern Ireland.

Bradley was forced off the pitch during Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Arsenal on January 8th with a suspected knee injury. The 22-year-old required treatment during stoppage time of the 0-0 clash at the Emirates.

During this time, Gabriel Martinelli received backlash from fans and professionals as he dropped the ball on top of Bradley while trying to take a throw-in to quickly restart play. The Brazilian also pushed Bradley in attempt to get him off the pitch while he was on the ground.

Former Liverpool teammates show support for Conor Bradley

Bradley has posted an upbeat and positive-sounding message on his Instagram with an update on his injury.

“A big blow but surgery is done so the comeback starts now. It won’t be for a little while but I already can’t wait to get back playing for Liverpool and Northern Ireland. Thanks for all the support,” the defender posted alongside a black and white image of him being stretchered off against Arsenal.

Thousands of comments have been left from fans and players, with the likes of Ibrahima Konate, Alexis Mac Allister and Andy Robertson all sending positive energy for his comeback.

Former teammates Caoimhin Kelleher and Neco Williams have also dropped in to wish their former teammate well.

“Speedy recovery bro,” Nottingham Forest star Williams wrote, with Brentford goalkeeper Kelleher leaving heart emojis.

Jarell Quansah, now at Bayer Leverkusen, also posted a similar reply, while Bobby Clark, who joined Red Bull Salzburg in 2024 commented: “Back stronger brother.”

When will Conor Bradley be back from injury for Liverpool?

Bradley underwent surgery to repair ‘bone and ligament damage’ to his knee but he has fortunately avoided damage to his ACL.

“It's an enormous blow for [Conor], but as a result of that it's a big blow for us as well because I hope that you don't think I would like to play Dominik Szoboszlai as a right full-back,” Arne Slot said after Liverpool’s win over Barnsley in the FA Cup.

“Jeremie Frimpong has to play a lot of minutes, also comes back from an injury, has missed out on three or four months of a lot of playing time. I liked him again today, by the way, but I have to make sure he is able to play again at the weekend and then we go to Marseille and then we go to Bournemouth.”
