Chelsea injury news and return dates after five struck down before Arsenal clash

Liam Rosenior applauds the Chelsea fans.

Liam Rosenior was handed one or two injury worries before the Arsenal game.

Liam Rosenior's first match at Stamford Bridge did not go the way he would have liked - but the new Chelsea manager may have other problems before his first Premier League game.

Liam Rosenior was hit with a wave of injuries ahead of Chelsea's League Cup semi-final first leg clash vs Arsenal. Rosenior found himself in the Stamford Bridge dugout for the first time since being appointed as Enzo Maresca's permanent successor.

Despite a spirited performance, defensive lapses saw Mikel Arteta's side secure a 3-2 aggregate lead to take into the second leg at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal's cause was aided by the last-minute withdrawal of FIVE Chelsea players on the day of the match at Stamford Bridge.

Ben White headed in Declan Rice's corner after Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez flapped at the ball, before the Spaniard then spilled a cross into the path of Viktor Gyokeres, who tapped into an open goal. Alejandro Garnacho did give Chelsea hope by scoring a brace off the bench, but Martin Zubimendi's strike, either side of the Argentine's goals, will mean Arsenal are the heavy favourites to reach the final at Wembley Stadium.

After the match and the sudden pile-up of injuries, Mirror Football takes a look at the injured Blues and whether they will be available for Rosenior's first Premier League game against Brentford.
