Welcome to a series focusing specifically on the schoolboys at Arsenal who are currently at Hale End – those in the U16s and below. The academy is based in E17, Walthamstow. The eleventh article is on Jayden Oba.
A talented forward, Oba has come all the way through the system at Hale End and is eligible for a scholarship deal ahead of next season.
In pre-season he featured for Arsenal U18s in a friendly against Dover Athletic, while he has also been called up to the Gunners’ U17 squad this campaign.
A player with good link up play who makes clever runs, Oba recently joined the Elite Project Group agency.
Oba was involved as Arsenal U16s won the Premier League National Tournament earlier this campaign.
He previously featured for the U15s at the Generation Adidas Cup.
An individual who is very focused and hard-working, Oba will be looking to make his competitive debut for the U18s in the near future.
