Jurgen Klopp could be open to managing Real Madrid due to the warm weather in Spain. Xabi Alonso left the club by mutual agreement following Madrid's loss to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final on Sunday.
Alvaro Arbeloa has been appointed the new manager but rumours continue to circle over more high-profile candidates. Klopp spent almost a decade with Liverpool and won multiple major honours, including the Premier League and the Champions League.
The Reds icon left at the end of the 2023/24 season after citing that he was "running out of energy." Since then, Klopp began work as head of global football for Red Bull and has been linked with a return to management on many occasions.
And now the German's comments from 2021 on the possibility of managing in Spain have resurfaced. During a pre-match press conference for Liverpool's quarter-final clash in the Champions League, Klopp joked about how "blessed" people were to live and work in the country.
He said: "When we flew out I regret we don’t live here! The weather is so much better here. You are blessed!"
Klopp was pressed on the matter and he added: "There are three good clubs. I would fit to all of them. Only problem I have is my Spanish is really bad!
"You wouldn’t enjoy having me in Spain with broken Spanish. All the clubs have great managers. Real Mallorca would be nice!"

This could be interpreted as a crucial hint that the boss might consider a return to management for the Spanish giants.
Meanwhile, Klopp weighed in on Alonso's sacking on ServusTV On, admitting that the departure makes one thing clear about modern football. He said: "First of all, I think it's another sign that something isn't quite right there at the moment.
"If Xabi Alonso, who over the last two years in Leverkusen has shown what an outstanding coaching talent he is – and I think at his age and with the number of jobs he's had, you can say that - is then forced to leave Madrid just six months later, it shows a few things.
"On the one hand, it shows that nowadays there's no time anymore. On the other, the expectations at Real Madrid are obviously enormous. To make a decision like that in the heat of the moment, after losing a [Spanish Super Cup] final to Barcelona yesterday, says a lot."
