Liverpool FC fans are on a roll and will hit a high note at Grimsby Auditorium on Friday when it is transformed into The Kop. The guest speaker is former striker and England star, Robbie Fowler known to fans as "God." That is because he scored 183 goals in 369 appearances over his two spells at the club.
Grimsby-based Nor-Lait Promotions' Simon North said he is delighted to bring the Liverpool legend to Grimsby on Friday, January 16, to celebrate the club's continued success and talk about his footballing highlights. Liverpool beat Barnsley in the FA Cup at Anfield and will host Brighton on St Valentine's Day in the next round.
Fowler is the club's top scorer in the Premier League era and scored 36 goals in the 1995-96 season, which is the most he scored in a single season for Liverpool. He ranks 7th in the club's all time goalscorer list, ahead of "King" Kenny Dalglish.
Robbie will be joined by Andy Hodgson, the well-known music artist, who will lead the audience in Kop anthems in the auditorium draped in flags and scarfs. Simon said: "Robbie is a very good speaker.
"It will be special atmosphere for all the family to enjoy from music to the career of a fans' favourite. I'm a Grimsby Town fan and also follow Liverpool. It will be a great night.
"Nor-Lait like to deliver a great night of entertainment with a host of big names who visited the area previously from Tyson Fury to Paul Gascoigne, Vinnie Jones , Harry Redknapp , Jamie Carragher and Tony Bellow.
