Chelsea are set to wave goodbye to a player they have not used regularly this season.

Though, Rosenior will have seen plenty of positives from his men as they scrapped and clawed to keep the tie alive going into the second leg in a few weeks’ time.

That game was the first real test Rosenior has faced, and his first Premier League game is just around the corner. In the meantime, he and the club continue to navigate the January transfer window, and much of the decisions will revolve around exits, with new signings not particularly likely unless there are a handful of exits.

One of the exits will not come with any sort of fee, though, with the Blues waving goodbye to Facundo Buonanotte ending his season-long loan spell early to join Leeds United and their survival bid.

Fabrizio Romano posted on X: “EXCLUSIVE: Leeds United reach verbal agreement to sign Facundo Buonanotte! Chelsea to interrupt loan move from Brighton, leaving #CFC to return to #BHAFC and then join Leeds. Move to #LUFC will be on loan until the end of the season. Here we go, soon.”

Buonanotte was a late summer signing for Chelsea, but he has only made eight appearances across all competitions, including just one Premier League appearance. The Argentine always felt like a depth signing for Chelsea and not one they would regularly rely upon.

Though, it is a little surprising that Buonanotte didn’t feature more given Cole Palmer has missed a chunk of games this season.

When asked about the lack of appearances for the Argentine back in December, now former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca said: “Facu is working well. He played many games at the beginning because Cole was injured, Liam was injured, so we had more space for him. There is not any reason, the reason why is because we have players in this position that are back.”
