Leeds United are yet to make a move in this January transfer window, which comes as sort of a surprise to many but not the fans at the club. The supporters have been sceptical of any business happening this month.
In January last year in the Championship, the Whites had a quiet winter window. But they still did end up winning the league title on their way to sealing promotion. This time around, they cannot be sitting on their hands waiting for things to fall in place; some of their relegation rivals are already strengthening their team.

Things can change very quickly in the Premier League; it was only over a month ago that Leeds slipped into the relegation zone and were tipped to go down. But Daniel Farke and the players have turned things around, securing huge results against bigger clubs near the end of the year. Now, they have a buffer between themselves and the relegation zone as they enter the second half of the campaign.
Facundo Buonanotte set for Leeds United move
In a rather shocking turn of events, Fabrizio Romano might have confirmed the first January arrival at Elland Road. Per the journalist, Leeds have verbally agreed to sign Facundo Buonanotte. The midfielder is currently on loan at Chelsea from Brighton, but the Blues are expected to cut short the deal to allow the Argentine to complete his move to West Yorkshire. It will be a loan deal for the rest of the season.
Buonanotte was a target for the Whites in the summer, but he turned down a move at the last minute to sign for Chelsea. Now, he could find himself playing under Daniel Farke for the rest of the campaign. Romano also confirmed that the 21-year old will undergo a medical soon as Brighton, Chelsea and Leeds United finalize the details over the transfer.

Club get much needed depth in attack
Fans will definitely have their reservations over the move, but adding Facundo Buonanotte is a great decision by the club. The Argentine playmaker can feature in a variety of roles including out wide and as an attacking midfielder. It is very likely he slots in behind the front two in this new system, but could also play alongside one of the strikers.
He brings creativity and dynamism in central areas and is very good on the ball. With multiple reports of Jack Harrison leaving, the club made a great decision to add another body in attack.
