When Chris Paul finally decides to hang his sneakers up, he'll undoubtedly go down as one of the greatest point guards in NBA history.
But retirement doesn't seem to be on the cards for the 40-year-old just yet.
Paul is in his 21st NBA season, and currently under contract with the Los Angeles Clippers, despite the team sending him home and effectively cutting him from the squad after he reportedly clashed with the coaching staff in December.
The Clippers could either trade the 12-time All-Star before the February trade deadline, or release him so he can be a free agent and sign with the team of his choice.
The Wake Forest product has made just 16 appearances this season, averaging 2.9 points and 3.3 assists, while shooting 32.1 percent from the field in a career-low 14.3 minutes per game.
Los Angeles is currently outside the playoff picture in the Western Conference, sitting in 11th place with a 17-23 record. An aging roster built around Kawhi Leonard and James Harden has so far failed to be successful.
Many expected Paul to call it quits and put an end to his Hall-of-Fame career, but the Point God recently admitted that he still has some more game left in him.

In a recent interview on the Good Sports with Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson show, Paul didn't rule out a return to the NBA when asked if he has considered retirement since the Clippers sent him home.
"I'm working out and training every day, right? In all honesty, with the way all that stuff went down and all that, I think for me, I just love this game so much that I don't want it to end like that."
Paul that he's enjoyed the free time he's had away from the court, and admitted he isn't sure what team he'd like to sign on with for the rest of the season.
"I've enjoyed the time, for sure. I get a chance to go to my kids' games, but I don't know yet," Paul said. "I don't know what team I hope to finish with."
Could Paul join a championship contender to give himself one last shot at winning an elusive ring? Or would he consider returning to New Orleans, where he began his NBA career in 2005?
