Chelsea are set to bring an end to what will go down as one of the most pointless summer transfers in Premier League history.
Facundo Buonanotte is set to move to Leeds United after minutes have very rarely come his way at Stamford Bridge since his loan switch.
The Argentine was tipped to move to Elland Road over the summer, before Chelsea hijacked the move late on, believed to be as cover for the injury-hit Cole Palmer.

Even though the England international has suffered with issues all season, this has not seen the loanee given many opportunities. Buonanotte was originally left out of the Champions League squad, before later being added.

Facundo Buonanotte exit could provide pathway for Kendry Paez at Chelsea this season
There were some Chelsea fans wondering why this opportunity couldn’t have gone to Kendry Paez. He was loaned to fellow BlueCo club, Strasbourg.
Things have not worked out too well for him over there, and talk of him potentially featuring elsewhere in the second half of the season could somehow open the door to minutes at Stamford Bridge.
Paez was underperforming in France, although the opportunity to feature alongside superior players would surely help his levels.
He has already struck up a close bond with Moises Caicedo from their time together on the international stage.

Liam Rosenior’s previous experience with Paez
Rosenior has already worked with Paez at Strasbourg earlier this season, although didn’t rely on the Ecuadorian as much as the Blues would have liked.
Estevao Willian was unreal against Arsenal 🔥

There have been questions regarding the midfielder’s attitude during his time on loan, and recent reports before Buonanotte’s exit suggested that a move to Ipswich was on the cards for Paez.
Chelsea have previously touted him as a generational talent, and have seen how things have worked out for Estevao Willian in the limited opportunities he has been given.
If he is not going to play at Strasbourg, Chelsea would be better off using him as a rotation option in their own squad, before finding a more suitable solution for him in the summer.
