PSG considering move for Chelsea star

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior will take charge of his first Premier League game on Saturday when his side host west London rivals Brentford.

The Blues defeated Charlton Athletic 5-1 in the FA Cup in Rosenior’s first match in charge, but fell to a 3-2 defeat against fellow Londoners Arsenal in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday evening.

Rosenior will hope to see his side return to winning ways on Saturday, although the Bees have been in fine form of late and will undoubtedly provide a stern test.

In the meantime, it appears that one key Chelsea player is attracting interest from one of the biggest clubs in Europe.

As per L’Equipe, via The Daily Mail, French champions Paris Saint-Germain are pondering a move to sign Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez.

The report claims that the Champions League holders have identified the Argentina international as a possible transfer target as they look to bolster Luis Enrique’s squad.

Fernandez, 24, joined Chelsea from Portuguese side Benfica in January 2023 and has since established himself as one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League, starring alongside Moises Caicedo.

In total he has featured 145 times for the Blues across all competitions, scoring 24 goals and providing 26 assists.

So far this term the Argentine has netted eight times in 30 games, including six goals in the Premier League.

It is claimed, however, that the player is weighing up his options in the wake of Enzo Maresca’s departure from Stamford Bridge.

Fernandez – who cost Chelsea a then-British record £107 million when joining the club three years ago – was a key player for Maresca during his time in SW6.

PSG are said to be intent on building a team around Vitinha, with the performances of both Joao Neves and Fabian Ruiz not convincing those in charge of the club.
