Liverpool are weighing up potential options as short-term replacements for the injured Conor Bradley

Liverpool are considering whether they are in need of an immediate replacement for the injured Conor Bradley to see out the remainder of the season.

The Reds are set to be without the right-back for the rest of the campaign, following the knee injury he sustained against Arsenal. Bradley was forced off the pitch in stoppage time and it was later confirmed that he would require surgery.

With options at right-back now limited for the second half of the season, Liverpool have their eye on potential new targets to fill the gap until the summer transfer window.

Liverpool earmark three right-back transfer targets

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool currently have three full-back targets on their radar. However, the report claims that the Reds will not be forced into any ‘panic buying’ throughout January.

“Plans are being assessed. If any player were to come in, it would only be someone the club is already well aware of and has done work on,” a source has told the outlet. Liverpool will not make any ‘kneejerk reactions’ in relation to recent events like Bradley’s injury.

Feyenoord’s Givairo Read, along with Daniel Banjaqui of Benfica have both ‘been watched’ by the Premier League champions. The Reds have also been made aware of the potential availability of Monaco right-back Vanderson.

The 24-year-old is currently being heavily linked with a move away from the club this month and is thought to be ‘open to joining’ a club in the Premier League. Vanderson is under contract with Monaco until 2028 but he has made just five Ligue 1 starts so far this season, as injury has also set him back.

Conor Bradley confirms successful surgery

Bradley has posted an update on his current situation, confirming he has had surgery and is now focusing on his return to football for both club and country.

“A big blow but surgery is done so the comeback starts now. It won’t be for a little while but I already can’t wait to get back playing for Liverpool and Northern Ireland. Thanks for all the support,” the defender posted alongside a black and white image of him being stretchered off against Arsenal.
