Jonathan Kuminga Hands In Trade Request

NBA sources have today revealed to ESPN that Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga has demanded a trade away from San Francisco.

The #7 pick from the 2021 **NBA Draft**signed a "prove it" two-year deal in the summer of 2025 and has seen his game time fall off a cliff as the season has progressed.

Following months of trade speculation, Kuminga began the 2025/26 NBA season in impressive fashion as he started the first 12 games and even had three 20+ point performances.

Unfortunately for the forward, a combination of poor play and a clear lack of trust in him from the Warriors Head Coach **Steve Kerr**has led to multiple weeks of DNP's as Kuminga has not taken part in the last 13 games he has been available for.

Speaking on Kuminga and his lack of game-time Kerr said: "Well, I'm disappointed for him that things didn't continue to go the way they did the first couple of weeks.

"We gave that lineup several weeks and eventually, I think the weaknesses of the lineup were exposed. That's why we went in a different direction".

It has been reported that the Los Angeles Lakers and the Sacramento Kings are amongst the teams who very intrigued in making a potential move for Kuminga.

League sources have also revealed that the Warriors GM, Mike Dunleavy is most interested in taking back expiring contracts and draft capital in return for the Congolese forward.

With only 15 days until the NBA trade deadline on the 5th of February, time will tell if we will see Kuminga suited up for a franchise not in the Bay Area for the first time in his career.
