Former NBA guard Delonte West, 42, was arrested in December 2025 in Virginia after allegedly robbing a man of $23.
Delonte West's struggles continue. The former NBA guard, now 42, was arrested on December 21, 2025, in Belle Haven, Virginia, after allegedly robbing a man of $23, according to a report from TMZ Sports.
Police located West after the alleged victim identified him from across the street, where the incident was said to have taken place. Officers then took him into custody at the scene.
Court records reviewed by the New York Post show that West was charged with assault and battery, as well as robbery involving the use of force. He was later released on a $1,000 bond.
West is scheduled to appear in Fairfax County court on March 16. The arrest is the latest in a series of legal and personal issues that have followed him in recent years.
In November, West was found unconscious and intoxicated along the side of a nearby road. That incident occurred roughly a year after he was arrested for misdemeanor trespassing in Huntington.
Earlier, in June 2024, West was taken into custody after fleeing police who were attempting to serve a warrant. Authorities said the arrest stemmed from alleged violations of his release conditions and resisting law enforcement.
West's basketball career came to an end in 2015. He entered the NBA with considerable promise after being selected 24th overall by the Boston Celtics in the 2004 draft.
Despite flashes of talent, he never fully met expectations during an eight-year NBA career that included stops with the Celtics, SuperSonics, Cavaliers, and Mavericks.
In 2008, West revealed he had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Since then, he has faced ongoing battles with substance abuse and homelessness.
