According to Sean Cunningham of KCRA News, Sabonis (knee) was a full participant in the Kings' team practice on Thursday. As such, there is an "optimism" that he might be back from playing as early as Friday against the Washington Wizards.

Sabonis sustained a partial tear of the meniscus in his left knee. He has missed the last 27 games for the Kings.

During his absence, Sacramento significantly struggled and tallied an 8-19 record throughout this stretch.

Regardless, a potential Friday return for Sabonis will be huge for the Kings. They have won three of their last three games, recently beating the New York Knicks with a 112-101 win.

The Lithuanian star appeared in 11 games so far this season, averaging 17.2 points, 12.3 boards and 3.7 assists.
