Dell Curry’s upcoming retired No. 30 Hornets jersey comes with a big Steph Curry catch.
Dell Curry is about to witness his No. 30 get immortalized by the Charlotte Hornets. And if there's only one player who can wear it at some point in the future, it's none other than another No. 30 who stands as the only player he believes worthy of the number.

In his virtual conversation with Mike Solarte of Spectrum News Charlotte, Dell was asked if Stephen Curry can wear No. 30 for the Hornets should the superstar guard sign with Charlotte.
As such, in that given potential scenario, Dell couldn't be more willing to surrender his retired number to his son.
"He already asked me that," the Hornets great said while laughing, "that was a quick yeah. We'd take it down for that, no doubt."
While he remains loyal to the Golden State Warriors, Curry notably revealed that he sees the Hornets as the only team he can play for outside the Dubs franchise.
Steph spent most of his childhood in Charlotte, as he witnessed his father playing for the Hornets.
"Everybody asks me, 'You wanna play one year for the Hornets and come back?' … I am not breaking any news right now, I'm not making any promises," Curry said in 2022. "All I would say is if there was a team that I did want to play for that was not named the Warriors, that would be it."
The Warriors stand steadfast in helping Curry win his fifth NBA championship. But should the two-time MVP decide to move on, the Hornets appear as an intriguing next stop for him.
The Hornets currently have one of the NBA's best young groups. Led by LaMelo Ball, Miles Bridges, Brandon Miller and new franchise centerpiece Kon Knueppel, Charlotte is set for a bright future ahead.
Right now, Dell stands compelled about Steph's ongoing run with the Dubs. But should his son consider new beginnings, he'll definitely be the first one to introduce the Hornets.
