League execs believe that the Bulls will blow it up ahead of the key Feb. 5 date in the NBA.
There is a significant sense that the Chicago Bulls will push their button ahead of the Feb. 5 trade deadline.
Chicago Bulls / Schedule
According to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, the Bulls could finally pull a fire sale and make drastic changes to their lineup.
“According to several league sources, going back to last year’s trade deadline Karnisovas has been more transparent in trade talks and realistic in asking prices. The feeling from other executives is going into this year’s Feb. 5 deadline, that momentum is carrying over toward Karnisovas looking to get something done with this current roster,” Cowley wrote.
For years, the Bulls have been stuck in mediocrity. They are currently in the 10th spot of the East with a 19-21 record.
Chicago can begin their massive retooling with Nikola Vucevic, who holds an expiring $21 million contract. Coby White is also a name to monitor, who didn't recommit with the franchise despite being extension-eligible.
As they identify Josh Giddey as the newest face of their franchise, the Bulls can only prepare for their future with the Australian sensation at the front.
