The NBA reached another key date on Thursday, and the trade rumor floodgates have opened once again.
The Los Angeles Lakers find themselves in the spotlight, as they have been linked to the disgruntled Golden State Warriors forward, Jonathan Kuminga.
Right now, the Kuminga situation seems far from resolved, although he's been out of the rotation and officially requested a trade on Wednesday. The Lakers might be in the market, but they aren't buying just yet.
As teams begin to really crack down on their strategy over the next few weeks, who are the Lakers willing to consider parting ways with in any future discussions?
NBA Insider Drops Two Names
According to Yahoo Sports' Kevin O'Connor, the Lakers would consider packaging Gave Vincent and Jarred Vanderbilt for the right deal.
Vincent joined the Lakers in 2023 after spending four years with the Miami Heat. Last year, he appeared in 72 games, coming off the bench for all but 11 of them. This season, he's got 18 appearances, seeing the court for an average of 20.4 minutes per game.
The veteran guard is struggling with his shot this year, making just 36 percent of his attempts from the field. He is producing 5.4 points and 1.4 assists per game.
When it comes to the eight-year veteran Jarred Vanderbilt, he's in the midst of his fourth year with the Lakers. So far this season, he's made 29 appearances with 20 minutes of action on average. He is shooting 46 percent from the field, while posting averages of 5.0 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
Vincent is wrapping up his third year on a $33 million contract. This season, he's making $11.5 million. As for Vanderbilt, he's in the second season of a four-year, $48 million deal. This year, Vanderbilt is bringing in $11.5 million. The final season of his deal in 2027 is a $13.2 million player option.
If the players aren't enough, the Lakers have also been shopping a 2032 first-rounder to be used in a package or in a different deal. The Lakers have been known to have eyes on several 3-and-D wings across the league. Kuminga is just the latest name to get a link to JJ Redick's team.
