The Kings guard opened up about the controversial incident and the league's three-game suspension.
Dennis Schroder finds himself back with the Sacramento Kings following his controversial three-game suspension from the NBA for an alleged attempt to hit an unnamed player.
As he was asked about what unfolded and the league's penalty against him, the German guard only had a few words to offer. Schroder had a viral social media reaction following the suspension news.
"I don't know. I mean, I wanted to, you know— the NBA decided it. At the end of the day, that's it," he said following the Kings' Thursday practice.
The league announced last week that Schroder will be suspended after the alleged hitting was discovered following the Kings’ 125-101 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Dec. 28. Per reports, Schroder sought out a Lakers player and initiated the confrontation.
Though not officially named by the NBA, many believe the player that Schroder confronted is Los Angeles star Luka Doncic. Both players had chippy interactions during the late December matchup between the Kings and the Lakers.
The Kings (11-30) have won their last three games as Schroder was unavailable. Those victories came from contending teams such as the Houston Rockets, the Lakers and the New York Knicks.
"They played great against great teams as well," Schroder said. "The competitive level is at an all-time high right now and we just got to keep it going"
