Giannis Antetokounmpo, Wembanyama Spark Viral Trade Speculation After Game

What would happen if an alien and a freak of nature teamed up?

Well, after tonight’s San Antonio Spurs and Milwaukee Bucks game, basketball fans across the world are buzzing about the possibility.

It’s no secret at this point that multi-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo more than likely wants these next few weeks to be his final in a Bucks uniform. The man who helped lead the Bucks to their second-ever championship in 2021 wants another, and the current Milwaukee core will be lucky to make it into the play-in tournament.

On the other end, Victor Wembanyama is at the beginning of his ascent to super stardom in the NBA. The French titan is ahead of schedule in his development, and the Spurs, loaded with young talent, could be legitimate contenders for the championship this season.

Although the Spurs haven’t been heavily linked to Antetokounmpo, with word coming out that they don’t want to mess up their youth movement, that didn’t stop fans from going wild following Thursday’s game.

After the Spurs beat the Bucks, the two European players met on the court and had a lengthy conversation with their hands covering their mouths so no one could make out what they were saying.

While it was probably nothing more than pleasantries and words of wisdom from Giannis to the next leading European basketball star, that didn’t stop fans from throwing out every rumor imaginable when seeing the extended interaction.

The Spurs and Bucks are at opposite ends of the NBA hierarchy currently.

San Antonio has the third-best record in the league, a happy crown jewel in Wembanyama, and a cast of characters around him excited to grow into a possible dynastic team. The Bucks are a broken-down sports car going down the highway with Antetokounmpo side-eyeing the window to see if there’s an opportunity for him to roll out.

The NBA trade deadline is Feb. 5, 2026, at 3 p.m. ET
