While the defeat itself was concerning, it was an especially rough night for guard Gabe Vincent, as the team is considering trading him ahead of the February 5 deadline.
Vincent, who has been mentioned as a potential trade piece for a wing upgrade, finished scoreless in 15 minutes. He went 0-for-7 from the field, including 0-for-5 from three-point range.
According to The Athletic's Dan Woike, Vincent received some boos from his own crowd after missing his seventh shot and fifth three-pointer of the night.
Prior to Thursday's game, Vincent had gone 10-for-22 from beyond the arc since returning from injury.
He entered the night averaging 5.4 points and 1.4 assists per game while shooting 36.5 percent from the field.
With the loss, the Lakers drop to 24–15. They have now lost eight of their last 13 games.
Los Angeles remains fifth in the Western Conference, but the gap between them and the top four continues to grow.
