Chelsea fans will monitor new signing as he could eventually play for The Blues

Chelsea fans will take an interest in one new signing being made because he could eventually play for them one day.

It’s a little tongue in cheek of course to say that every player who joins Strasbourg may one day play for Chelsea. But judging how things have gone so far, there is always that chance.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea hold second round of talks to sign 6ft 4in centre back!

Chelsea and Strasbourg are both owned by BlueCo of course. And over time so far, they have often moved players between the two clubs and recently, even a manager! We all know the story with Liam Rosenior and how he is now at Chelsea as head coach, joining from Strasbourg.

So it’s not far-fetched to say that any player who joins Strasbourg, may well play for Chelsea some day soon. And many Chelsea fans do actually keep a close eye on them anyway, especially when they make new signings. And it looks like they are set to make another new signing this winter window.

According to L’Equipe, Strasbourg are close to finalizing the signing of Moroccan winger Gessime Yassine for an estimated fee of around €7 million.

What do we know on him?

Well, not too much. He’s 20-years-old and plays as a winger for Dunkerque in Ligue 2 in France. He can operate on the right or the left.

He played for Morocco U20s currently and has had 16 appearances and scored 4 goals for them. He is also eligible to represent France having been born there.

Breaking into the Dunkerque side in 2024, Yassine quickly established himself in the side’s starting eleven, and was chosen as Dunkerque’s player of the month in February and March. He was elected Ligue 2 young player of the month in February, and was nominated for Ligue 2 young player of the season.
