Enzo Fernandez's potential transfer away from Chelsea takes its first steps as PSG make'contact'- journalist

It has not taken long for new manager Liam Rosenior to instantly be won over by star Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez.

The Argentine has featured in both games the boss has been in charge for, scoring from the penalty spot in the FA Cup win against Charlton.

Rosenior praised Fernandez for his efforts in the defeat against Arsenal, however reports coming out since that game have been worrying for Chelsea fans.

It has been stated that Fernandez is growing tired with the situation at Stamford Bridge. He has already seen plenty of managers, such as Enzo Maresca and Mauricio Pochettino.

Champions League holders PSG were mentioned as one of the sides potentially interested in a move, and they have seemingly taken the first steps towards a potential transfer at the end of the season.

Journalist Uriel Iugt has stated that the Ligue 1 side have made contact with the midfielder, although acknowledge that a deal is not going to be easy to pull off.

“PSG has Enzo Fernández in its sights for the upcoming season. The interest is concrete and so far there has only been an informal contact with his entourage.

“The French club knows that his departure from Chelsea will not be easy. He has a contract until June 2032.”

Fernandez previously described PSG as the best side in the world, making it difficult to believe he would outright reject a move there if the chance came up.

Fernandez set to be crucial for Rosenior

One thing that was noticeable regarding the Chelsea man’s performance was how he picked up a deeper position that he had recently under Maresca.

Whether this was because of the absence of Moises Caicedo or not, it was clear that there was a plan in place to get him more touches of the ball.

It looks clear that Rosenior has a plan to get the best out of Fernandez, however he will be left hoping that it is enough to not see his head turned from elsewhere.

Obviously, transfer interest in the World Cup winner is not new. Real Madrid have previously been linked with Fernandez, who could turn out to be the big transfer story of the summer.
