Barcelona manager Hansi Flick had some kind words of praise for Fermin Lopez after seeing him come off the bench and set up the opener for Ferran Torres in Thursday’s [Copa del Rey win against Racing](/barcelona-copa-del-rey/110222/racing-santander-barcelona-copa-del-rey-final-score-match-report-recap-reactions).
Lopez is enjoying a great season for Barcelona and his performances certainly haven’t got unnoticed by his manager.
”He’s special. Not all players are like him. I like his attitude, his dynamism... he changes the course of a match with his movement, his passing... he also scores,” he told reporters.
“He’s always in the right position. He’s a very good player for us.”
Joan Garcia also got a mention after making a vital late save to prevent the game being taken into extra-time.
”Joan made a great save. And he keeps another clean sheet,” he added.
“Joan played because we decided to, and it was a good decision after watching the game. We’ll see in the next Cup matches; I haven’t decided yet. He might play them all, it will depend on whether he’s tired.”
And Flick also hailed his team’s attitude after seeing his players forced to work hard against a determined home side.
”For Racing, this is one of the most important matches in recent years. These matches aren’t won on reputation, they’re won on attitude,” he explained.
“We had a great attitude and the team played very seriously, with the right mentality, and that’s what I like most. Racing played a great match; maybe next year we’ll see them in the First Division, we’d like that.”
