The January transfer window is in full swing and whilst won't be making any signings this month, they continue to eye up some serious summer deals.

The club have made changes in the dugout, but will stick with their current squad ahead of targeting a new midfielder or two in the summer. Carlos Baleba, valued at around £100million by Brighton, is someone they are confident of landing.

The Premier League's top two, and , could be relatively quiet for the rest of the month with spending big to land Antoine Semenyo, who has made an instant impact.

Konate future still undecided

As well as Andy Robertson, Ibrahima Konate could be a man who leaves Liverpool this summer. Like the left-back his contract is winding down and there's been no progress as of yet.

His exit would leave the Reds light in the backline and they continue to be linked with new centre-half options.

Robertson future unclear

Andy Robertson has confirmed contract talks with Liverpool are under way.

The Reds' vice-captain has rotated at left-back for the majority of the season with £40m summer signing Milos Kerkez and the Scotland captain faces the toughest competition he's had for a place in the side since he broke into the team.

Robertson has started just four Premier League games this season and he admits what happens next is uncertain after explaining that negotiations have now commenced.

"We’ll see what happens," Robertson said. "We’ve had chats now which will remain private. I've spoken to them and we’ll see what happens. Would I like to stay? Yes, but it’s a difficult question to ask. I’ve got five months left and we need to see the option to stay or if there’s options to go and things like that."

Crisis club Sheffield Wednesday could add two loan players before tomorrow's clash against Portsmouth at Hillsborough.

The Owls remain in administration and sit on -7 points having been deducted a total of 18 following the mess left by hapless former owner Dejphon Chansiri.

Man United are reportedly growing more and more confident that they will be able to prise Carlos Baleba away from Brighton in the summer transfer window.

United have been long-term admirers of Baleba and believe their chances are increasing.

He was one of their primary targets before the 2025/26 season began. Brighton held firm in the summer, quoting a price north of £100m.
