A player being eyed by West Ham United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur is the subject of strong interest from Wolfsburg

Former Leeds United defender Charlie Cresswell is a man in demand this month, with Bundesliga club Wolfsburg reportedly submitting a £15.6m bid to sign the Toulouse man this month.

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Toulouse are unlikely to consider the offer as a sale is described as doubtful this month. The report claims West Ham are interested in a January move for the 23-year-old after a failed move to sign him late in the summer transfer window.

A report from talkSPORT claims the player has also been scouted by Chelsea while Tottenham Hotspur are also tracking the ex-Leeds man.

Cresswell has been with Toulouse for 18 months, after leaving Leeds United in the summer of 2024. He came through the academy at Elland Road and has experience of playing in London, having spent the 2022-23 campaign on loan at Millwall.

He has made 52 appearances for Toulouse and has been a key player this campaign, playing every minute of their Ligue 1 season so far.

Cresswell was part of the England squad for the Under-21 Euros in the summer as he played every minute for the Young Lions and was named in the team of the tournament after England triumphed in the final against Germany.

The defender is known for being vocal on the pitch and taking leadership roles on his shoulders. Speaking to Henry Winter in the summer, he said about being vocal: “It's the way I've been brought up. It was drilled in me since I was first starting football. Mainly by my dad and my mum. I've got three younger siblings so being the oldest child plays its part. I'm the one they should be looking up to so it’s just trying to set an example for everyone.

“My dad always taught me that speaking will help me. So I speak and it helps others, but it also helps me. It helps make my job a lot easier. And if that comes off in a leadership manner then it is what it is.”

Speaking about his time with Toulouse, he added: “Ligue 1 is very good. Like any fans, they (Toulouse’s) love anyone leaving 100% on the pitch. I've matured a lot out there, like in everyday life. It's made me more independent.
