Here is the latest Chelsea transfer news and gossip as former Blues star John Obi Mikel has claimed that the club needs more quality and experience in the attacking unit, and they should sign Victor Osimhen.
Joao Pedro was Chelsea’s most expensive signing at £60m last summer, but a further £200m was spent on key additions Jamie Gittens, Alejandro Garnacho, Estevao Willian, Jorrel Hato and Liam Delap.
Those arrivals helped CHELSEA win the Conference League last season and lift the Club World Cup trophy over the summer, beating Champions League holders PSG in the final.
However – The £60m summer signing of Pedro has scored seven goals in all competitions so far this season after bagging 30 in 70 games for his former club Brighton, and has struggled to find the net on a regular basis
That has led to all sorts of speculation and rumours about who CHELSEA could sign this transfer window, and adding a new striker to that front line that can actually find the back of the net on a weekly basis, that is what is needed.
The Nigerian International scored 26 goals for Galatasaray last season, and he has 12 goals to his name this season. He is a reliable performer at the highest level, and he helped Napoli win the league title before leaving Italy. He could have a similar impact at Chelsea if he joins the club
Mikel said via Sky Sports: “Victor Osimhen. He can stretch the play, he can run behind, he can come short, he can score goals, he can do everything.
“You need that experienced striker who’s been there, done it, knows how to win big games, knows how to score in big games, knows how to be in the right place at the right time.”

Osimhen is world class, he is banging in the goals and a few seasons ago, he would have been a quality signing for the Blues. But at this stage of his career, Chelsea probably do not see the value of signing Osimhen for a few seasons.
CHELSEA do need a striker, but Osimhen is a player that the Blues should have signed a few seasons ago, not now.
