It’s increasingly apparent that two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo could see the coming weeks as his final stretch in a Milwaukee Bucks uniform. The star who led Milwaukee to its second championship in 2021 is chasing another title, while the current roster struggles just to reach the play-in tournament. Following Thursday night’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs, speculation about his future is heating up among basketball fans everywhere.
Victor Wembanyama is beginning his journey toward NBA superstardom. The French star is progressing ahead of expectations, and with a Spurs roster rich in young talent, San Antonio could realistically challenge for a championship this season.
Although the Spurs haven’t been majorly connected to Antetokounmpo, with reports suggesting they don’t want to disrupt their youth-focused rebuild, that didn’t stop fans from going into a frenzy after Thursday’s game.

L’Équipe’s Maxime Aubin offered some perspective on how Victor Wembanyama views the Giannis Antetokounmpo situation.
“I asked Victor Wembanyama about Giannis Antetokounmpo’s situation in Milwaukee, and what he can learn from it as a future superstar in the league,” Aubin wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
“I’m trying to learn as much as I can, even though you have to acknowledge that every situation, every story is different — even more so for foreign players like us. I’m nobody to judge how his career has unfolded. I have a lot of respect for what he’s doing on the court, and what he continues to do. I think he still has quite a few years ahead of him, and I’m very curious to see how the next chapter of his career will play out,” the Spurs star commented.

After the Spurs’ victory over the Bucks, the two European stars spent a moment talking on the court, covering their mouths to keep the conversation private. While it was probably just Giannis offering guidance and friendly words to the rising European talent, fans quickly speculated wildly about the meaning of their extended interaction.
