Chelsea enter race to sign 23-year-old forward previously wanted by Liverpool: Reports

Chelsea have registered their interest in Feyenoord forward Anis Hadj Moussa, who was previously on the radar of Premier League rivals Liverpool, as per reports. The Blues are keeping tabs on the Algeria international as they look to strengthen their squad under Liam Rosenior.

According to Media Foot (via Sport Witness), Hadj Moussa is a target for the Blues, although he has several other suitors. The Feyenoord star is being targeted by Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Marseille, but Chelsea's superior financial muscle makes them the major power in the saga. They have met with his agent Mohamed Dahmane to understand the conditions of a deal this month.

Anis Hadj Moussa was linked with a move to Liverpool in the summer of 2025, with the winger expressing his desire to play in the Premier League at some point. Arne Slot's side did not make a move for him, instead preferring to make high-profile additions such as Florian Wirtz.

New Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior has admitted that his side may need reinforcements this month, revealing that he intends to audit the squad before taking any concrete steps. The Blues have flattered to deceive this season, failing to build on their success in the FIFA Club World Cup from last summer.

Anis Hadj Moussa has scored seven goals and provided three assists in 23 appearances across all competitions for Feyenoord this season. The 23-year-old was part of the Algeria national team squad that reached the quarterfinals of the ongoing AFCON, and will be hopeful of playing at the FIFA World Cup this year.

Chelsea cut short loan deal for Argentina youngster

Chelsea have cut short their loan deal for Brighton & Hove Albion youngster Facundo Buonanotte, with the Argentinean heading to Leeds United. The Blues signed the 21-year-old on a season-long loan last summer but failed to give him enough minutes, causing him to move elsewhere.

Buonanotte was a surprise deadline day addition to Enzo Maresca's squad after the club failed to land both Xavi Simons and Fermin Lopez. The youngster appeared to be headed to Leeds United before the Blues swooped in to sign him, and he joined them.

Facundo Buonanotte made only eight appearances in the first half of the season, scoring once and providing two assists as a Chelsea player. He played in Liam Rosenior's first game in charge before deciding to end his time at Stamford Bridge and return to Brighton. He has since completed a loan move to Leeds United until the end of the season.
