Reliable journalist has dropped significant 7-word Liverpool injury update before Burnley

**Liverpool host Burnley in the Premier League this weekend, and a big injury update has emerged, courtesy of reliable journalist Lewis Steele.**

The Reds welcome the Clarets to Anfield on Saturday, looking to go 12 matches unbeaten, and more importantly, pick up three more points in their quest for Champions League qualification.

Mohamed Salah won’t be available for the game, but Arne Slot [hinted to reporters](https://www.thisisanfield.com/2026/01/arne-slot-mo-salah-fallout-closure-comments/) on Friday that the situation is positive ahead of his likely return to the fold next week:

_“We’re in talks with him, what is expected of him over there, what we expect over here. But first of all he needs to have an important game on Saturday and next week he’ll be back with us. That’s something we are talking about together now, yeah.”_

That wasn’t the only key update to emerge from Slot’s pre-Burnley press conference, however, with Steele taking to [_X_](https://x.com/LewisSteele_/status/2012090381639507979?s=20) to confirm that there are no new Liverpool injury problems in a seven-word update: _“No fresh fitness concerns for this weekend.”_

**How will Liverpool line-up vs. Burnley?**

-------------------------------------------

This is a must-win game for Liverpool, considering Burnley are in the relegation zone, and most of their starting lineup should pick itself at Anfield.

With Conor Bradley out, Jeremie Frimpong will surely start at right-back, with Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk and Milos Kerkez making up the rest of the defence.

In midfield, Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister are most likely to anchor things – Curtis Jones is in better form than the latter, though, and arguably deserves the nod – with Florian Wirtz then potentially taking up the No.10 role.

That would then mean that Dominik Szoboszlai starts on the right wing in the absence of Salah, which isn’t ideal, but does highlight the Hungarian’s versatility.

Cody Gakpo is a man out of form, but is expected to be on the left-hand side, with Hugo Ekitike then leading the line, looking to continue his impressive start to life in a Liverpool shirt.

Playing Frimpong on the wing and Joe Gomez at right-back is an option, allowing Szoboszlai to be more central, but it remains to be seen what Slot goes with.
