Liverpool have been linked with a move for RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande since last year.
The Reds’ interest in Diomande emerged in 2025 amid his impressive showings in Germany.
This month, meanwhile, has seen the Merseyside outfit given a boost when it comes to potentially landing the teenager.

Diomande wants to play for Liverpool, confirming as much in a recent social media clip.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has spoken out about a potential transfer for the 19-year-old.
Yan Diomande expected to move in 2026
It is thought that Leipzig want over £88m to sell Diomande, who Romano suggests will be on the move this summer.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, the journalist said: “If you ask me, ‘Do you think Yan Diomande will move in the summer?’ Yes.”

However, when it comes to a potential transfer in the current window, Romano was quick to play that down.
He continued: “If you ask me if Diomande will move in January? I think this is going to be complicated because Leipzig already made big money last summer – Openda, Sesko, Xavi Simons – so they don’t need money now, but in the summer it could be a different story.”

Liverpool may want Yan Diomande now
Whether or not the player is allowed to leave Leipzig this month remains to be seen.
However, it may be the case that Liverpool push for a move in the coming weeks should Mohamed Salah decide to depart.
Salah will miss the Burnley game this weekend to compete in a third-place play-off before returning to Anfield next week.
There are still question marks around the Egyptian’s future, and if Arne Slot doesn’t put him back in the eleven over the coming gameweeks, it would not be surprising to see reports of the 33-year-old wanting to leave this month emerge.
If that does happen, Liverpool would need to find a new right winger, and Diomande seems like a good option.
