Fabrizio Romano shares the fee Man City are paying to sign Liverpool target Marc Guehi

Never mind losing out on Antoine Semenyo, Marc Guehi is also joining Manchester City instead of Liverpool.

However, developments over the last day have put to bed any chance the Premier League champions had of getting a deal done.

What Arne Slot has said about Liverpool’s January transfer business

With a move for Guehi now off, it doesn’t appear as though the Reds are anywhere close to signing another player this month.

Will Liverpool make any signings at all before the deadline on February 2?

Well, while Slot didn’t rule out that happening when speaking at his pre-Burnley press conference, his comments weren’t exactly the most exciting.

As per BBC Sport, he said: “I think everyone is aligned about the challenges we’re facing, that’s not to say we are going to act, but everyone is aligned with what we’re facing.”
