Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner has seemingly confirmed the transfer of Marc Guehi to Manchester City

Manchester City’s defensive crisis has intensified their interest. Josko Gvardiol will undergo surgery on a broken shin bone and should miss the rest of the season, while Ruben Dias faces four-six weeks out with a hamstring injury. Pep Guardiola’s side currently sits six points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal, making an experienced, Premier League-proven centre-back like Guehi an urgent priority.

Speaking in his pre-Sunderland press conference, the Austrian manager revealed that Guehi will not be in the squad tomorrow as deal with Manchester City is in the final stages (via Bobby Manzi):

“Oliver Glasner says that Marc Guehi won’t be in the squad tomorrow. Deal with Manchester City is ‘in the final stages'”

Additionally, Glasner himself has also revealed that he will be leaving the South London club at the end of the current campaign, saying:

“I already informed the club months ago that I wanted a new challenge.” The former Eintracht Frankfurt manager has been candid about how frustrated he was with the Eagles’ summer business – and was part of the reason why Guehi’s deal to Anfield eventually collapsed.
