The Montreal Canadiens loaned goaltender Jacob Fowler and forward Owen Beck to the AHL’s Laval Rocket on Friday.
Assigning Fowler back to the Rocket ends the three-goaltender rotation the Canadiens have been using since the end of December.
Fowler has a 4-4-2 record with the Canadiens this season with a .902 save percentage and a 2.62 goals-against average. He was called up by Montreal last month with both Sam Montembeault and Jakub Dobes struggling.
Dobes, who has seen just two starts in 2026, has a 14-5-3 record this season with a .888 save percentage and a 3.01 GAA. Montembeault is 8-6-2 with an .874 save percentage and a 3.35 GAA, but has a 3-0-1 record after returning from an AHL conditioning stint.
Beck has one goal in 15 games with the Canadiens this season. The 2022 second-round pick has one goal and two points in 28 career games with the team.
Fowler allowed four goals on 26 shots in a loss against the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday and the Canadiens will look to rebound Saturday against another Atlantic Division rival in the Ottawa Senators.
