Reijnders Issues Stark Warning To Arsenal As He Makes "Confident" Title Race Prediction

Man City midfielder Tijjani Reijnders says his team are “pretty confident” that they can chase down Arsenal at the top of the table.

The Gunners have a six-point advantage heading into this weekend, but Reijnders still believes his side haven’t hit top gear this season:

“We have to keep the pressure on Arsenal, so it’s very important for us to win this game [against Manchester United] and get in the right flow again.”

“We are pretty confident [of catching Arsenal], to be honest. We all feel like we are really growing this season and that’s a good sign. We have the feeling that we’ve not reached our ceiling yet.”

A derby win would be a big boost for City

After three consecutive draws in the Premier League against Sunderland, Chelsea and Brighton, a victory at Old Trafford this weekend would be a massive shot in the arm in terms of the title race.

Pep Guardiola’s side would go within three points of the top (at least temporarily), with Arsenal taking on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground later the same evening.

Reijnders has been in top form

While some of his teammates haven’t been quite at the races in recent games, you can’t say that about the Netherlands international.

Since the beginning of December, Reijnders has scored 5 goals and contributed 2 assists in 12 appearances for the Cityzens.

It is fair to say that after a very bright start to his City career, the 27-year-old did have a bit of a lull before coming alive over the last six weeks.

While Reijnders has certainly stepped up to the plate, he will be hoping others can begin to contribute just as much in front of goal during the run-in as his team look to catch Arsenal.
