Chelsea told sign 26-goal star–81-goal ace to make shock move–Blues stunned as£107M star seeks move

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews featuring the likes of Enzo Fernandez, Cole Palmer and Victor Osimhen that you may have missed…

Here is the latest Chelsea transfer news and gossip as former Blues star John Obi Mikel has claimed that the club needs more quality and experience in the attacking unit, and they should sign Victor Osimhen.

Joao Pedro was Chelsea’s most expensive signing at £60m last summer, but a further £200m was spent on key additions Jamie Gittens, Alejandro Garnacho, Estevao Willian, Jorrel Hato and Liam Delap.

Those arrivals helped CHELSEA win the Conference League last season and lift the Club World Cup trophy over the summer, beating Champions League holders PSG in the final.

However – The £60m summer signing of Pedro has scored seven goals in all competitions so far this season after bagging 30 in 70 games for his former club Brighton, and has struggled to find the net on a regular basis

That has led to all sorts of speculation and rumours about who CHELSEA could sign this transfer window, and adding a new striker to that front line that can actually find the back of the net on a weekly basis, that is what is needed.

The Nigerian International scored 26 goals for Galatasaray last season, and he has 12 goals to his name this season. He is a reliable performer at the highest level, and he helped Napoli win the league title before leaving Italy. He could have a similar impact at Chelsea if he joins the club

Mikel said via Sky Sports: “Victor Osimhen. He can stretch the play, he can run behind, he can come short, he can score goals, he can do everything.

“You need that experienced striker who’s been there, done it, knows how to win big games, knows how to score in big games, knows how to be in the right place at the right time.”

Osimhen is world class, he is banging in the goals and a few seasons ago, he would have been a quality signing for the Blues. But at this stage of his career, Chelsea probably do not see the value of signing Osimhen for a few seasons.

CHELSEA do need a striker, but Osimhen is a player that the Blues should have signed a few seasons ago, not now.

ENZO FERNANDEZ TO LEAVE?

There has been some shock reports in the media which have claimed that Chelsea Captain Enzo Fernandez is considering leaving the Blues after the club decided to sack Enzo Maresca.

After a difficult start to his Stamford Bridge career, Fernandez assumed the captaincy following the appointment of Enzo Maresca and played a key role in leading the club to Conference League success and Champions League qualification last season.

The 24-year-old thrived under Maresca and was left disappointed by the club’s decision to part company with the Italian earlier this month following the breakdown in the relationship between the coach and board

And according to L’Equipe, Fernandez has been so unsettled by the latest managerial upheaval that he is weighing up leaving in the summer, amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

The reigning European champions built last season’s success around a midfield trio of Vitinha, Joao Neves and Fabian Ruiz, but Luis Enrique is keen to add more competition for places.

‘Mister, thank you for everything shared and experienced during this stage, I learned a lot and I value every advice and experience,’ Fernandez shortly after Maresca’s departure..

‘Wishing you and your coaching staff, Willy, Dani, Robi, Marcos and Mickey, all the best. We won two titles together that I will never forget.

‘Much success to you and hopefully our paths will cross again in the future. A big hug.’

There are probably a number of players at CHELSEA that do no longer want to be at the club, so we are not surprised to see that Fernandez may consider leaving the club, he wants to win trophies.

Under Maresca, he was playing some good football, winning tings, Liam Rosenior is a very good young manager, but can he lead the Blues to success? that is the real question guys.

PALMER TIPPED FOR MOVE

Stunning reports have claimed Manchester United are being backed to finally sign boyhood Red Devils fan Cole Palmer if they can lure the Chelsea star’s former manager, Mauricio Pochettino, back to England.

In 81 Premier League games for CHELSEA the 23‑year‑old has produced 40 goals and 18 assists and he is now easily considered to be one of the most highly-rated young players in the game, and a player that the Blues really rely on.

But despite the fact he has a long term contract, despite the fact he has now shown any desire to leave in previous windows, there is always speculation that he could leave if a big club comes calling.

Now – Palmer has been tipped to make the move to Man United if the Red Devils are able to bring Mauricio Pochettino back to England after he leads the USA at the world cup in the summer.

Rene Meulensteen, who once worked alongside Sir Alex Ferguson in Manchester, has told Casinostugan: “Could Mauricio Pochettino convince Cole Palmer to come to Manchester United? Only if CHELSEA would be willing to let him go.

‘Palmer is a fantastic player and I think he would suit Manchester United really well and the way they should be playing because he is a difference maker. That’s always what you want.

“You’d need to think about how he’s going to fit in because on that right-hand side, where Cole is playing to come into the pocket, obviously you can have Amad Diallo there too or [Bryan] Mbeumo. Bruno [Fernandes] operates in the middle.

“Palmer was a boyhood United fan and it’s actually too strange for words that United never picked up on it and made sure that they sounded him out about his plans if he ever were to leave City. It’s very strange that it never happened, in my opinion.”

IcFootballnews Says…

Look, this rumour that CHELSEA would be open to letting Palmer leave the club is mad, he is a star that they can turn into one of the best in the game and a player that can win games on his own.

United may want Palmer, but that long contract means that a move will be far too expensive for the Red Devils.
