The Los Angeles Clippers have reportedly discussed a trade that would bring them another veteran scorer in exchange for their key forward.

Sacramento Kings / Schedule

According to NBA insider Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Clippers held talks with the Sacramento Kings that could have landed them DeMar DeRozan and Keon Ellis in exchange for John Collins.

“In fact, the Kings had exploratory conversations on a trade involving DeRozan and Ellis for Clippers forward John Collins and another small salary filler before the Clippers won 11 of their past 13 games,” Scotto reports.

This season, 36-year-old DeRozan is averaging 19.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game, while Keon Ellis is averaging 5.3 points and 1.3 rebounds on a struggling Kings team.

John Collins, on the other hand, has also struggled this season, averaging 13.1 points, 5 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks in around 27 minutes per game with the Clippers.
