White Unlikely To Depart But Will Arsenal Strengthen For Title Tilt

With us now a few weeks into the New Year, the January transfer window has been open for a while and as other Premier League clubs begin shuffling their first team pack, managerMikel Arteta and the Arsenal board appear to be taking their time over things right now, but defender Ben White could be a notable departure. Many in the Gunners faithful would love to see us splash a bit more cash this month to bolster and strengthen the squad and Arteta’s options for what has so far been a very good tilt at a top flight title for the first time since way back in the 2003/4 campaign. After a number of seasons of tasting disappointment as we finished in second spot and were named runners up, we had another good summer window and although Swedish international striker Viktor Gyokeres is yet to really find his feet and replicate his earlier scoring form, the overall team keep doing the business on the pitch.Whether you enjoyBetpanda slots and online casino gaming, or the more traditional match day odds, few saw this season’s success coming and with 21 games played we have racked up 49 points with 15 wins and four draws and currently hold a six point advantage on the nearest chasers. There are a lot points still to fight for and a lot of games still to be played, but especially with an expensive Gyokeres not really firing on all cylinders, we could have hardly asked for more right now.Whether or not we do end up strengthening this window remains to be seen. It does feel slightly unlikely as our injury problems are slowly improving and we have now welcomed back both Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz to training following their own rehabilitation periods and they should now hopefully build their fitness and sharpness quickly and play their own part. Departures do feel slightly more likely though and that brings us nicely to Ben White. The 28 year old former England international defender has often filled in at right back again this season, and not his more traditional centre half position, but Arteta has given him 13 games so far across all competitions this year. He clearly remains in his thoughts, but he is certainly not one of the first names on the team sheet and that does mean that there is an opportunity to partially balance the books here before.Whilst his stock remains relatively high, we could arguably look to cash in on him to help balance the books somewhat after our spending and whilst we certainly would not recoup the £50 million we paid Brighton and Hove Albion back in the summer of 2021, in the current market and looking at other deals, we could be pretty confident of getting somewhere between £20 to £30 million back and he could undoubtedly do a very good job for a number of PL sides, and certainly those abroad. The speculation rumour mill is linking Everton as being interested in striking a deal before deadline day, but there are claims that Manchester City are also keeping tabs on him. The official line fromArsenal is apparently that he is definitely not available this month as we want to assess things come the summer, but money talks in the modern game and his game time could be a driver here.Only a couple of weeks left in the window and then we will know for sure.
